TLI31222 CERTIFICATE III IN DRIVING OPERATIONS

TLI31222 Certificate III in Driving Operations is a qualification for individuals engaged in the transport and logistics industry and can include specialised units for driving operations. This course is an opportunity to increase your skills and knowledge as a professional driver. Participants will up-skill and understand all the latest requirements, including fatigue management, load restraint, chain of responsibility, route planning, processing workplace documents and many more.

COURSE DETAILS

Entry Requirements

Hold an open or provisional class C or LR licence for 12 months.

Pay the test booking fee to the Department of Transport and Main Roads and pass the heavy vehicle knowledge test.

You will need to have a level of reading (literacy) to complete the training and assessment tasks, as well as language (English) and numeracy skills to participate in activities at this qualification level in the workplace. At enrolment, Saltera Training will ask you to undertake a Literacy, Numeracy and Language indicator to confirm your skills and/or identify if some additional support may be required.

To apply for a higher licence class, you must have held your current licence for a set period. This period must have occurred in the last 5 years (excluding any time that your licence was suspended, surrendered, cancelled or expired).

Course Structure

This is a Nationally Recognised qualification that contains 15 units: 5 core units, 1 driver awareness elective unit, plus 9 general elective units.

Duration

TLI31222 Certificate III in Driving Operations may take an individual with limited existing experience in this industry area approximately 12 months to complete, although depending on your experience and/or opportunities in your workplace you may be able to achieve the qualification in 9-12 months.


If working part-time, an individual may take 18-24 months to achieve the skills and knowledge necessary to achieve competence in this qualification.


Training will take place at your workplace and will include workplace visits from a Saltera Training Trainer every 8-12 weeks, and paper-based and/or online accessible workbooks with learning content and activities to complete.

Assessment Methods

Assessment may include answering questions in your workbooks or online, doing projects and practical tasks, some of which may need to be observed by a person in your workplace, or directly by your assessor, and may also include keeping a log of activities you complete in the workplace that your supervisor can confirm.
